Tourism in the USOne thing that immigrants bring to their new country is experience with another culture. Many new Americans have capitalized on their backgrounds and successfully carved out new careers in tourism in the USA. Whether bringing in groups from their previous place of residence on special tours of their new country or simply offering packages of special interests to American immigrants who still share that culture, this group of entrepreneurs has found a profitable niche in the tourism industry. Tourism in the USA for most immigrants from previous generations involves special trips to places like Ellis Island or other ports where their families might have originally embarked in the US. A large number of such tours arranged for groups by language is offered by every travel agency and they are very popular and run throughout the year. Other types of destinations favored by immigrants involve the big cities their families always talked about in the old country, whether New York, Miami, or Los Angeles. For the most part, it’s a little like seeing a vestige of your own country right in the middle of a big American city. People still speak their former language and even the signs are written using the proper alphabet. Some nationalities are attracted to specific shrines, particularly religious monuments or churches, that they have heard about since before arriving in the US. The “Weeping Madonna” in the Philadelphia area draws people from all over the country, even non-Catholics. Still, one of the most popular forms of tourism in the USA for immigrants involves – shopping. Although almost everything is available throughout the country, the draw of downtown Manhattan simply to make purchases is too great to be dismissed. And for bettors, Las Vegas beats Atlantic City, having a lot more places to gamble available for speakers of foreign languages. Apply for a U.S. green card today.
