22-25 June, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies continues its international Ukrainian Weeks Abroad initiative with a series of events across Poland. Following successful editions in France, the United Kingdom, and Spain, Ukrainian Week in Poland will bring together scholars, students, university leaders, policymakers, and representatives of cultural institutions to discuss the development of Ukrainian Studies, academic cooperation, and Ukraine\u2019s place within the European academic landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over four days, events will take place at leading Polish universities in Warsaw, Krak\u00f3w, Pozna\u0144, and Gda\u0144sk, creating a platform for dialogue between Ukrainian and Polish academic communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

University of Warsaw | 22 June<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Ukrainian Week in Poland will open at the University of Warsaw with discussions dedicated to the evolving role of Ukrainian Studies in the context of Russia\u2019s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and broader transformations within Europe. Scholars and practitioners will examine institutional development, language policy, and post-imperial perspectives in contemporary Ukrainian Studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jagiellonian University, Krak\u00f3w | 23 June<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The programme at Jagiellonian University will focus on Polish-Ukrainian academic and cultural cooperation. The event will feature the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the university and the Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies, a panel discussion on cultural cooperation and contemporary challenges, as well as presentations showcasing the development of Ukrainian Studies at the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Krakow University of Economics | 23 June<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Hosted by Krakow University of Economics, the event will explore the role of academic cooperation in supporting economic resilience, reconstruction, and long-term development. Participants will discuss Ukrainian-Polish cooperation in higher education and the contribution of universities to addressing contemporary social and economic challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adam Mickiewicz University, Pozna\u0144 | 24 June<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Pozna\u0144 programme will bring together students, scholars, and university representatives from Poland and Ukraine to discuss international academic cooperation, student mobility, and opportunities for collaboration in Ukrainian Studies. The event will include the presentation of a student translation project developed jointly by students from Adam Mickiewicz University and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, alongside discussions on future educational partnerships and academic exchanges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

University of Gda\u0144sk | 25 June<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The concluding event of Ukrainian Week in Poland will take place at the University of Gda\u0144sk. The programme will focus on civic identity, education, leadership, and the role of universities in strengthening democratic societies and supporting Ukraine\u2019s recovery. A central element of the event will be a Rectors\u2019 Panel on Polish-Ukrainian University Cooperation, bringing together university leaders from both countries to discuss academic partnerships, mobility programmes, joint research initiatives, and the future of Ukrainian Studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme will also include a side event, \u201cIdentity as a Skill for the Future: Education, Responsibility and Leadership,\u201d organised within the framework of the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026. The discussion will address the role of education in shaping civic responsibility, leadership, and democratic resilience in contemporary Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
