HOW TO JOIN?

International cooperation within the Coalition is flexible. Each university can adapt its commitments and capabilities according to its own strengths, resources, research interests and experience. This allows the most effective use of the potential of each partner for the joint development of Ukrainian studies in the world.

There are three levels of participation for future members of the Coalition, so that everyone can choose the format of cooperation that suits them best:

BASIC LEVEL
Profile of the institution:

has the willingness to join and implement first activities related to Ukrainian studies

Opportunities within the Coalition:

Access to core resources: Starter Kit, basic literature, video lectures, syllabi, teaching materials.
Informational support: inclusion in the Coalition network, analytical digests, publication of events in the Coalition newsletter.
Hosting one public event (lecture, seminar, workshop) on Ukrainian or Crimean Tatar topics.
Integration of new components or support/expansion of existing ones in the field of Ukrainian Studies.
University profile featured on the Coalition website.
Initial integration of Ukraine-related components into existing courses or extracurricular activities.
The possibility of receiving a state award for a contribution to Ukrainian studies

Commitments:

Integrate new components on Ukraine or expand/support existing ones.
Interaction with a network of institutions and exchange of experience.
Holding a public event on Ukrainian (including Crimean Tatar) issues: lecture, seminar, exhibition and/or other agreed format.

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL
Profile of the institution:

has specific initiatives, a dedicated course or program, and resources for systematic development of Ukrainian studies

Opportunities within the Coalition:

Everything from BASIC + extended access to resources: modular curricula, curated literature collections, multimedia, contacts with archives, libraries, museums, and cultural centers.
Launch of short certificate programs or elective courses in Ukrainian studies.
Invitation of professors/experts for a series of lectures
Joint courses with Ukrainian universities (COIL), integration of Ukraine-related case studies into humanities, technical, natural, social sciences, and business programs.
Cultural diplomacy: organizing exhibitions, presentations, mobile expositions, Ukraine Weeks, film clubs.
Participation in international conferences, discussions; online guest lectures by Ukrainian academics.
Grant support: guidance on funding opportunities, application consulting.

Commitments:

Inviting professors to give a series of lectures or courses at the institution.
Integrate Ukrainian studies and case studies about Ukraine into existing courses or other formats of educational activities.
Joint courses with Ukrainian universities.
Organisation of exhibitions and/or presentations on Ukrainian (including Crimean Tatar) issues.

HIGH LEVEL
Profile of the institution:

has the resources and vision to become a leader in Ukrainian (and related) studies, ready to invest in long-term initiatives.

Opportunities within the Coalition:

Everything from INTERMEDIATE + full access to the Coalition’s knowledge and expert base (all teaching materials, experts, cultural institutions).
Establishment of a Center for Ukrainian Studies or a permanent program/course.
Hosting major academic events: international conferences, summer schools, student project competitions, roundtables for the Coalition network.
Institutional influence: membership in the Coalition Supervisory Board, participation in strategy-setting, cooperation with Ukrainian archives and libraries.
Academic exchange: research visits, study trips, scholarships for students and researchers in Ukraine.
Fundraising & international projects: forming consortia, joint grant applications, double-degree programs.

Commitments:

Establishment of a separate department or centre for Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar studies.
An international conference or roundtable organised by the university.
A study visit to Ukraine by faculty or students.
Summer school for its students and students from other Coalition member institutions.
A project competition and scholarship programme for students and researchers.

HOW TO JOIN: STEP-BY-STEP

A pathway for universities that have expressed their intention to join the Coalition:

Apply for Coalition membership by submitting the application form
